In-Kind Donations FAQ

Do I need to schedule my donation in advance?
Yes. All in-kind donations must be scheduled or pre-approved before drop-off to ensure we have space and staff available to receive items safely.

Where do I drop off donations?
Donations are accepted at the Postpartum Support Center door only during approved drop-off times. Please do not leave items outside the building. Other locations are Church of our Saviour/Episcopal Church of Mill Valley and B Lounge aka Boomerang Lounge (Tam Valley). Check their times and donation rules on the IN-KIND DONATIONS PAGE.

Can I donate used items?
We accept new or gently used items only if they are clean, in excellent condition, and meet our safety guidelines. Some items, such as car seats and breast pumps, cannot be accepted even if gently used. Confirm if the items are accepted or not on the IN-KIND DONATIONS PAGE or contact us.

Why are some items not accepted?
Due to safety regulations, liability concerns, environmental standards, and limited storage space, we are unable to accept certain items. These policies help protect the families we serve.

What if I’m unsure whether an item can be donated?
Please contact us before dropping off items. We’re happy to help determine whether your donation can be accepted.

Can I donate large items or furniture?
We generally do not accept large furniture items. In rare cases, we may help coordinate specific items directly for a family in need, please contact us first.

Where can I donate items you can’t accept?
We’re happy to suggest other local organizations that may be able to receive your items, such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other Marin-based family services.
