We're Hiring: Operations Program Manager

The Postpartum Support Center is excited to announce that we are expanding our team! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations Program Manager to oversee our maternal mental health programs.

About the Role: As the Operations Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our maternal mental health initiatives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing program operations, ensuring programs run at full capacity, managing stakeholder relationships, and assisting with various tasks around the center as needed.

Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in program management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of maternal mental health. The ability to work independently and a commitment to making a significant impact on the lives of young families and their children are essential. Bilingual candidates (Spanish-speaking) are highly desirable.

Position Details:

  • Location: 4162 Redwood Highway, San Rafael, CA 94903

  • Hours: Full-time, exempt position (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Wednesdays from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with occasional weekends for events)

  • Start Date: Position available from July 1st or upon the availability of the right candidate.

  • Salary: $62,500 per year

  • Reports to: Executive Director 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of maternal mental health programs, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet organizational standards.

  • Capacity Management: Monitor and manage program capacities, ensuring optimal participant engagement and resource allocation.

  • Participant Recruitment: Develop and implement effective strategies for participant recruitment to maintain a steady inflow of clients.

  • Client Interviews: Conduct interviews with potential clients to assess their needs and suitability for various programs.

  • Stakeholder Correspondence: Manage regular correspondence with clients, community partners, and donors to foster strong relationships and support network.

  • Social Media and Communications: Oversee and contribute to the organization's social media presence related to the programs, enhancing visibility and engagement.

  • Volunteer Coordination and Training: Recruit, manage, and train volunteers and program facilitators to ensure they are well-prepared to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Fundraising: Assist in fundraising efforts, helping to secure the financial resources necessary for program sustainability.

  • Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks as assigned by the Executive Director to support program objectives.

  • Event and Meetings Participation: Represent the organization at events and community meetings, potentially during weekends, to promote programs and recruit participants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Language Skills: Fluency in English required; proficiency in Spanish preferred to effectively provide peer support.

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.

  • Psychological Expertise: Understanding of individual, group, and family psychodynamics, especially as they relate to maternal mental health. Familiarity with psychological diagnostic methods, terminology, and human development from infancy through adulthood.

  • Community and Health Services Knowledge: Well-versed in the health and human services systems within the community, including both public and private agencies, and other resources available.

  • Program Facilitation: Ability to facilitate existing support groups and educational classes, and to develop new groups and programs as required.

  • Crisis Intervention and Advocacy: Knowledge of crisis intervention principles, peer support, maternal mental health education, participant and community advocacy, and systems theory. Understanding of the needs, challenges, and viewpoints of individuals affected by mental illness, trauma, immigration, and economic insecurity.

  • Legal and Ethical Knowledge: Awareness of relevant laws and ethics in mental health, including participants' legal rights.

  • Case Management: Proficiency in casework objectives, principles, techniques, methods, and managing caseloads effectively.

  • Resource Awareness: Extensive knowledge of community resources, public social service programs, and assistance programs.

  • Record Keeping: Competency in maintaining accurate mental health records and documenting all actions and contacts in case files.

  • Stress Management: Basic understanding of the effects of stress and adverse childhood experiences on mental health.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to engage participants in the problem-solving process and facilitate effective outcomes.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to work independently and under supervision, follow directions, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and manage stressful situations effectively. Must be able to establish cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels within and outside the organization.

  • Professional Skills: Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite, G-Suite, Canva, and other relevant software tools for effective program management.

Training: Required to complete training in Maternal Mental Health, Mental Health First Aid, and Peer Support Orientation, get Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (training is paid).
